Your safety in Esko's hands

Your safety in Esko's hands

Many of New Zealand's most important industries involve challenging working conditions agriculture, marine, industrial, manufacturing - all these industries need to protect their most important assets - their employees. This is why some of New Zealand's largest companies trust Esko safety products to do just that.

Esko is a staunchly Kiwi-owned, intergenerational company based in New Plymouth, with many years experience in manufacturing and supplying safety products designed to protect the people that keep this country running. And this desire to provide safe places of work extends into the community support work they do.

"At Esko, we understand that for a community to prosper it needs; generosity, care and good-health for a sustainable future" says Steve Biss, Esko General Manager. The business supports several community projects including Experience Purangi, which manages around 13,000 hectares of land that is home to over 4,000 Kiwi, and Taranaki Rescue Helicopter. They are also major donors to Rapid Relief Team, and have donated $125,000 towards the $1.5 million that Rapid Relief Team donated to support the Rapid Relief Team ICU in the New East Wing Building at Taranaki Base Hospital.

Next generation intensive care

The Rapid Relief Team ICU is part of the $400 million New East Wing Building at Taranaki Base Hospital. This brand new unit will have 18 individual rooms for enhanced patient confidentiality and infection control, as well as spaces for whฤnau and support people.

The money donated by Esko through Rapid Relief Team will be used to provide enhanced equipment that will help to provide better health outcomes for the patient as well as providing a more comfortable environment for family and the staff. This includes items such as comfortable recliner seats that help with recovery as well as dedicated spaces for whฤnau to discuss cases with clinical staff. As well as upgraded monitoring equipment and AV comms in order to provide remote medical services and monitoring. "The team at Esko looks forward to having this top-class facility available to serve the people of Taranaki for generations to come."

The donation has been made through the Taranaki Health Foundation, who are fundraising for enhancements throughout the hospital. "Support from local businesses such as Esko means we can provide patients and the family members with a more comfortable experience while they are going through one of the hardest periods of their lives" says Grant Carter, Taranaki Health Foundation Donor Relationship Manager. "We are incredibly grateful for the support all the businesses have given us through Rapid Relief Team".
